who we are
We are Texans concerned about low voter turnout and decreased voter enthusiasm for the March primary election. We exist to provide non-partisan information to empower and energize Texans to show up and vote in March.
In Texas, the March primary is often the most important election. Since 1998, all statewide races and nearly every legislative seat have effectively been decided in the primary. That’s because turnout is low and most districts strongly favor one party, making the general election less competitive. In practice, this means the real choice — which Republican or which Democrat will lead the state — is usually made in March.
March Matters partners with employers, associations, faith communities and community organizations to educate and empower Texans to vote in the March primary elections.
